A simple and easy way to protect your Wi-Fi connection

It is very important to keep your Wi-Fi network at home. You can take a few simple steps to make Wi-Fi safe and reliable.

Open the router settings page.

Go to your web browser and enter “192.168.1.1” to access. Enter the correct username and password in the field here and press Enter. You can find your username and password in the router user guide. Guides for some routers can also be found on Google.

Create a unique password-

Create a new, unique, personalized password for your router that no one can guess. Do not store the shared password or the default password for your Wi-Fi router. Also, do not forget to change your password every few months.

Change SSID Name

Changing the SSID name of NETWORK will help, because it can help others make sure that it is not the default network and can be secure. Do not use your last name, phone number or home address as the SSID name.

Network encryption

This is an important task. There are many encrypted ones. Among the latest routers, WPA2 is the most secure, and WEP is the least secure. Select encryption accordingly.

Mac PC address filtering

The Mac address is the built-in address of the device’s network device. This is similar to an IP address, but cannot be changed. For greater protection, you can add the Mac addresses of all devices to the Wi-Fi network. To do this, find the Mac address of the device. On the PC, use the command line and enter “ipconfig / all”. You will find the Mac address called “Physical Address”. On your phone you will find the Mac address in the network settings. Just add the Mac address to your wifi management settings. Now only these devices can access your Wi-Fi.

Reduce Wi-Fi Range

The easiest way is to put the router under the bed in a shoe box or wrap aluminum foil on the antenna. Similarly, you can change the Wi-Fi router mode to 802.11g instead of any other mode.

Update Wifi Software

This is as important as the new update, and you will also receive a new security update for the router. Check the current firmware version by going to “192.168.1.1”, and then check it in the control settings or control panel.
